Foam Types Available

1. Standard Foam (White)

Most popular foam.  A clean flexible polyester polyurethane foam of low density with the following typical properties: Nominal piece density range: 15-18kg/m3 Nominal core hardness 120-160 newtons Nominal tensile strength 75kpa min. Nominal elongation at break 100% min Nominal compression set 25% max Nominal cell count 18-30 cells/25mm This foam is supplied white and manufactured without antioxidants and other chemicals which may be harmful in a medical environment . While some discoloration may occur during autoclaving the properties of the foam remain basically unaltered.

2. Fine Foam (Blue)

An alternative foam for prep. Sponges. Having a finer structure, it may be more suitable where extra rigidity is required, particularly during the sterilisation process to prevent collapsing. May also be used in any environment, where extra rigidity and firmness is required. A clean polyester polyurethane foam which has a small cell size with a stronger resistance to compression Typical Physical Properties Nominal piece density range: 23-26kg/m3 Nominal core hardness 190-250 newtons Nominal tensile strength 100 kpa min. Nominal elongation at break 120% min Nominal compression set 15% Nominal cell count 35-48 cells /25mm This foam is supplied white and manufactured without antioxidants and other chemicals which may be harmful in a medical environment .
